Flat Tax

We have heard about it kicked around for many years with nothing ever really being done about it. I believe that the US government should have a flat tax. This would be a percentage on everything that is purchased by every person in America. Income tax would be done away with. There would no longer be depreciation, credits of any kind, write offs, and so much more. The tax would be a set amount possibly 10% across the board and paid on everything that we buy this would be extremely fair as the wealthy would buy more items Middle class would buy more items, and the poor would continue to buy the amount of items that they purchase now. There would be no need for the Internal Revenue Service, no need for audits, no need for tax corruption, but yet a flat even system. This would take a while to design but as I said before it would be extremely fair for all citizens. As your senator I would work hard to design a flat tax and be fair for all Alabamians.

I also believe in this new system that the government would work on a balanced budget. That being said, the government would only take in the amount of money needed to operate each year. This could cause the flat tax to decrease and be a benefit to all citizens. It would also eliminate so many pork barrel projects that we see in the government today.
