Federal Department of Education

I believe the United States Department of Education should be closed. I believe the funds would be much better handled through the State Department of Education and the Local Board of Educations. Do not misread what I said! Programs like Head Start and Chapter One should remain in place but rather than having another huge bureaucratic agency in Washington DC, we could trim the fat in the Government, allocated the money to the State Department of Education and have a larger amount of money to reach the actual children, where it is meant to go.

If we trim the fat and get the money down to the student level, we can increase our ranking among the developed nations from being average to being first class. We also need to do everything we can to get the overall graduation rate from high school up from 90.3% (in 2021) to near 100%. If we are the great nation in the world, we need to have the best students graduating our schools in the world.
